The Township is continuing work to repair an ongoing watermain leak in the distribution system. One leak has been fixed, however a second leak is still active. Public Works crews have completed multiple excavations and are continuing to locate the source, with support from external leak detection specialists.
To allow crews to safely continue this work and maintain essential services, temporary water service interruptions will be required in Zone A and Zone B (see attached map).

Overnight water shut-offs
? 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
? December 31, 2025 to January 9, 2026
Possible daytime pressure interruptions
? 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
? January 5 to January 9, 2026
Residents are encouraged to plan ahead by storing water for essential use during these times.
Community Support Available
The Nipigon Community Centre is available for drinking water, washrooms, and showers. Hours of operation are posted on the Township website: www.nipigon.net

Zone A and Zone B remain under a Boil Water Advisory until further notice. Updates will be shared as soon as conditions allow the advisory to be lifted.
