The Township of Nipigon will host a round table discussion on Thursday, October 22, 2026, for residents and business owners who may be affected by the Highway 11/17 Nipigon Expansion Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment Study.

The meeting will take place from 6:30–8:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Nipigon Community Centre, 138 Wadsworth Drive.

Chaired by Mayor Suzanne Kukko, the discussion will gather local input to help inform the Township’s official response to the study. Participants are encouraged to share concerns about property access, traffic movement, business visibility, customer and delivery access, and future development.

No Ministry of Transportation (MTO) representatives will be present. This is a Township-led discussion to receive and record community concerns. Township representatives cannot answer technical project questions but will document questions for submission to MTO and seek clarification.

Residents and businesses are also encouraged to submit their own comments directly to the project team using the comment form accompanying the study notice. The requested comment deadline is November 3, 2026. Participating in the Township’s round table does not replace an individual submission.

Following the meeting, the Township will prepare and submit its official comments to MTO.
