2026 Pulverizing & Paving Projects

The Township of Nipigon will be completing pulverizing and paving work on several roadways as part of our Annual Pulverize & Pave Capital Project.

Roads Being Rehabilitated

• Greenmantle Drive – approximately 400 m
• Bell Street – approximately 225 m
• 9th Street – approximately 150 m

Pulverizing – September 8 & 9

Pulverizing operations are scheduled to take place on September 8 and 9, 2026, weather permitting.

The affected roadways will be closed to traffic while active pulverizing operations are underway. The contractor and Township staff will make every effort to complete daily preparation so that the roads can be reopened to the public outside of regular working hours, Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Please do not enter areas that are actively under construction and follow all posted signage and directions from construction personnel.

Road Preparation – September 10–16

Following pulverizing, the roadways will be graded and prepared for paving.

The roads are expected to remain passable between construction activities, but residents should be prepared for intermittent disruptions, reduced access, and temporary closures while grading and other preparation work is completed.

Paving – Tentatively September 17 & 18

Final paving is tentatively scheduled for September 17 and 18, 2026, weather and construction conditions permitting.

Temporary road closures and significant traffic disruptions should be expected while paving operations are underway.

What Residents Should Expect

September 8–9:
 Road closures during active pulverizing operations.

September 10–16:
 Roads generally maintained in a passable condition, with intermittent disruptions or closures as preparation work continues.

September 17–18:
 Temporary road closures and traffic disruptions during paving.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate routes where possible, exercise caution around construction equipment, and follow all posted signage.

The Township appreciates residents' patience and cooperation while this important road rehabilitation work is completed.
