Fire Ban in Effect – Township of Nipigon

Saturday, 11 July 2026

The Township of Nipigon has issued a Fire Ban, effective immediately and remaining in place until further notice.

What does a Fire Ban mean?

During the Fire Ban, residents and visitors must not have any open-air fires. This includes:

• Campfires and recreational fires
• Outdoor fire pits and fireplaces
• Chimineas
• Burning grass, leaves, brush or debris
• Any other open-air burning

All previously issued Township fire permits are suspended while the Fire Ban remains in effect.

Please use extra caution outdoors and ensure cigarettes and other smoking materials are fully extinguished and disposed of safely. Updates will be provided when conditions improve and the Fire Ban is lifted.
