2026 Municipal and School Board Elections

The 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026, and the Township of Nipigon has prepared an Information for Candidates Guide for anyone considering running for Mayor, Councillor, or School Board Trustee.

This guide provides important information on candidate eligibility, nomination filing requirements, key election dates, campaign responsibilities, financial filing requirements, and the role of Council.

Important Dates:
Nominations open: May 1, 2026
Nomination deadline: August 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
Election Day: October 26, 2026
New term of Council begins: November 15, 2026
