Jonna Z Welcomes CC
Well you might have noticed that it’s been a while since you’ve heard from me and that’s because this small-town girl made the decision to pack up and move to Australia. I left Nipigon in January of 2019 and have now officially been in the land down under for 6 months. I have always wanted to travel and experience living abroad so becoming an Au Pair has allowed me to do so in a place that I have always dreamed of visiting.
Since moving here my days consist of taking care of two little ones, Leah age 6 and Spencer age 4. When I am not with the kids exploring, playing, and taking care of them I am spending time with new friends and exploring the area. My love for sports was not left back in Canada and I have joined a girl’s Australian football team “footy” which is like rugby. Of course, I am using my time off as an Au Pair to travel and see as much of this beautiful country as possible.
However, being abroad I have not forgotten about my beloved hometown, the community, and my previous position with the Township of Nipigon. I think that it is important that they continue to have an online blog and resource to help those continuing to explore the edge. In order to do this, I am officially passing the torch to my longtime friend, fellow Nipigon resident, Casey Clearwater. She has just been welcomed home from an abroad Au Pair experience in Edinburgh, Scotland.
She is now working for Superior Country out of the Tourist Information Centre and is known for her photography in the area under CC Photography. I can’t think of a better person to trust with this blog and I hope you welcome her with open arms.
Until Next time, exploring the land down under – Jonna Z
